Today, more than 1,000 locals joined the Polar Bear Plunge at Sanders Beach, Lake Coeur d'Alene for a festive New Year celebration with music, costumes and local traditions (including beaded necklaces and karaoke tunes) before a noon dive.

Hundreds joined the 49th annual Tesh 5K Fun Run on Thursday in a 27-degree, cloudy morning along the North Idaho Centennial Trail near Atlas Waterfront Park.
