EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Today, the state education department informed school districts, including Coeur d'Alene Public Schools, to prepare for 1 percent and 2 percent budget cuts that may reduce programs & increase class sizes. Superintendent Dr. Shon Hocker urged lawmakers to maintain funding for public education. Coeur d'Alene Press
FINANCE NEWS
- ➤ Gantry has secured $21.2 million in loans to refinance maturing debt on two medical office buildings in Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint—$11.5 million for a 60,000 sqft facility and $9.7 million for a 38,000 sqft property serving outpatient and family medicine providers. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ City officials, Republic Services and 82 Fort Grounds households agreed to restore trash pickup to its 50-year method after a month of talks; the change took effect Jan. 1 and resident Bridget Hill called it a move in the right direction. Coeur d'Alene Press
