- ➤ Spirit Lake’s annual Outhouse Races, held Saturday on Fourth Avenue because of low snowfall, featured teams racing outhouses while about 100 locals enjoyed chili cook-offs, giant Jenga and cornhole in the *Winter Olympic Games*. - ➤ Betty Adams celebrated her 100th birthday this past Saturday at Providence St. Luke's Rehabilitation Medical Center — nearly 100 guests joined to mark her long career in nursing and volunteering. - ➤ Paul Swanson, a 62-year-old disabled veteran, is back in school to earn a music theory degree at the Adult Education Center.
