  • A Community Cookbook for St. Paddy's Day features recipes like corned beef and cabbage sandwiches, Irish potato soup, and pistachio pie while local parades, runs and pub events give residents a chance to join in the celebration + share food and fun.  The Spokesman-Review

CULTURE NEWS

  • At Barrister Winery over the weekend, Piers Lane and Zuill Bailey performed Romantic piano and cello works, bringing Schubert, Mendelssohn & Chopin to life in a two-part concert. The programs featured both solo and duo performances that drew heartfelt applause from the audience.  The Spokesman-Review
  • The Coeur d'Alene Downtown Association and Idaho Central Credit Union will host a St. Patrick’s Day Parade this Saturday, March 14 at 3 p.m. starting at Eighth and Sherman and ending at First Street, with former mayor Woody McEvers as grand marshal and a theme of *Emerald City*.  Coeur d'Alene Press

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Forest Service Road 231 in the Pack River drainage north of Sandpoint is now open after crews cleared debris following December floods. Other roads in the region remain closed as officials work to restore access.  The Spokesman-Review

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Bureau of Land Management has temporarily closed a section of Tiger Gulch Road near Murray due to a washout from recent winter storms, and the road will remain closed until design work and repair funding are secured. Staff are also assessing damage at other district sites.  Coeur d'Alene Press
