- ➤ Numerica Credit Union said Tuesday it laid off 25 employees—about 3.5% of its 660 team members—as part of a restructuring driven by rising costs and evolving member needs. No local jobs in North Idaho were lost, and affected team members will receive severance plus job placement support while all branches continue to serve members. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ Coeur d'Alene High School technology students competed at Idaho's TSA State Leadership Conference in Meridian last week and won top awards in events such as Dragster Design and Structural Design and Engineering—evidence of their hard work and skill. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ The gym at Coeur d'Alene Early Learning Center was bustling Tuesday as Vocational Rehabilitation and the Coeur d'Alene School District hosted a career fair where nearly 50 high school students learned about pet grooming, public safety, cotton candy making and office administration. The event featured 21 employer booths and four business presentations — students earned passport stickers for prizes — as a way to explore new career paths. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ The House approved a measure on Tuesday that names the period from Mother's Day to Father's Day as Traditional Family Values Month. Rep. Joe Alfieri (Coeur d’Alene) sponsored the resolution, which passed 60-8 and mirrors a Senate resolution from February. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ Coeur d'Alene resident Lynn Fleming opposed Idaho Short Term Rental Bill 1162 today—she argued the bill, which lowers rental fees to $50 and limits local oversight on STRs, threatens neighborhood safety and housing stability. Fleming urged the city to join Sandpoint and Ketchum in formally opposing the state move that could favor high-profit absentee owners over full-time citizens. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ Blue Fern Development is meeting with the city's Design Review Commission on Thursday at noon at City Hall to outline a 57-unit townhome project on a 3-acre site near Lacrosse Avenue and the North Idaho Centennial Trail. The project features three-story units with livable attics ranging from about 1,000 to 2,350 square feet + it includes preserving the historic Roosevelt Inn facade on a separate parcel.
