Volunteers are invited to help repair Tubbs Hill on Friday, April 3 at 8:30 a.m. at East Tubbs Hill Park, where they will move rocks, rake surfaces, and reposition logs + complete additional trail work.

North Idaho College reported a 7.1% jump this spring to 4,570 students from Kootenai County, with full-time enrollment rising 17.1% and dual-credit students increasing 13%.
Registration for summer and fall courses is underway + the college will launch its Cardinal Classic track this fall.
NIC student Claire Greenwood was named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s All-USA Academic Team and will receive a $3,000 scholarship at the PTK Catalyst event on Friday, Mar.
27 in Baltimore. She is NIC’s first honoree and earned a $2,750 scholarship as a New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar.
Avista is flying a helicopter for natural resource surveys today and tomorrow as part of environmental monitoring over the Spokane River watershed.
Helicopter flights from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. may be seen over areas including Lake Coeur d'Alene & nearby river sites.
Flu cases remain steady in North Idaho as influenza, COVID and RSV continue affecting patients, according to Dr. Anthony Rehil-Crest at Heritage Health.
He reported over 5,000 flu cases this season with eight deaths and urged vaccinations, especially for older adults, to reduce risk.
