- ➤ The Autism Society of Idaho is hosting the Walk for Autism Acceptance on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds with a 5K walk or run, a micro walk, an Easter egg hunt, raffles and a resource fair. Registration for the 5K costs ($45 including a shirt and a medal) while the micro walk is free (offering no registration fee). Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ The Vine Church held its Faith in Action Day at Croffoot Park in Hayden to clean up new soccer fields—the event is one of several service projects since the church began in Coeur d’Alene in 2017. - ➤ Local playwrights debut three full-length productions at Stage Left Theater's New Works Showcase, with Boxes running today through Sunday + Don't Cry for Them booked from April 25 through 27 and Tiny Musical from May 2 through 4. The event marks the first time the theater presents full-length works by local writers and features sets by Technical Director James Landsiedel. The Spokesman-Review
- ➤ The North Idaho State Fair announced that Midland will perform during the Party in the Dirt Concert Series on Aug. 18 at Findlay Arena — special guest Mackenzie Carpenter will join the show and tickets are now on sale. Coeur d'Alene Press
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rep. Jordan Redman of Coeur d'Alene brought back his immigration bill as House Bill 135, and it passed the Legislature and was signed by Gov. Brad Little on April 3; the law will take effect on July 1. At least seven immigration bills were introduced this session and some stalled—others did not get a hearing—while health experts raised concerns about possible impacts on care. Coeur d'Alene Press
