- ➤ Nine Mile Falls School District is asking voters on the April 28 ballot to approve a $6.2 million capital levy for Lakeside High School to fix its leaky roof, failing boilers, cracked track, outdated cameras + a condemned portable classroom to enhance safety. The Spokesman-Review
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Following a December storm, the Idaho Department of Lands urges landowners to remove or treat downed Douglas-fir and western larch logs to prevent infestations, as untreated wood may trigger a new bark beetle generation emerging in April 2027. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ Coeur d’Alene contractors planted 500 native tree seedlings on Tubbs Hill today as part of the city’s fuel mitigation project funded by a grant match; 300 seedlings have Vexar tubes and 200 used Trico deer repellent (each is marked for future inspections) with phase two set for summer. - ➤ According to the Coeur d'Alene Regional Realtors March report, the median price of a single-family home in Kootenai County fell to $545,000 on Monday, April 20 — a 0.2% decline from last year.
