ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A two-vehicle crash Monday just after noon on State Highway 41 near Clagstone Road in Blanchard killed a 59-year-old motorcyclist who was riding without a helmet—Idaho State Police said the minivan driver was taken to the hospital and the highway was blocked for about three hours as the investigation continues.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • A 59-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a 100-year-old woman driving a minivan on Monday in Blanchard when she attempted a left turn onto Clagstone Road from State Highway 41 and authorities said the highway was blocked for about three hours.  The Spokesman-Review

  • STCU is completing the integration of Community Bank after buying it several months ago. The 10 Community Bank branches in Oregon and Washington will close at 3 p.m. Friday and reopen Tuesday under STCU signage—keeping the same local staff—to maintain community service.  The Spokesman-Review

  • The League of Women Voters has invited Kootenai County candidates to submit their details for Vote411.org—its free online voter guide that will show local ballot information for the May 20 election. The guide, which draws on over 100 years of voter assistance experience, is designed to help voters easily find the races that affect them.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • Coeur d’Alene City Council approved a human-powered pub trolley that will operate from May to October and offer two-hour scenic tours starting and ending at Jeremiah Johnson Brewing Company—stopping along Fourth Street, Garden Avenue, East Front Avenue, and near Fort Sherman. Four daily tours for guests 21 and older will visit Jeremiah Johnson, Crafted Taphouse, and The Burger Dock with patrons required to bring their own sealed alcohol.  Coeur d'Alene Press
