The Coeur d'Alene City Council unanimously approved a memorandum of understanding for an indoor baseball complex that will help youth teams practice during inclement weather, with interior batting cages, bullpens, and a fielding area planned, and construction set to begin soon (despite changes to the parking layout).

Don Johnston, John Adams and Marge Chadderdon were influential local leaders known for their fairness and dedication — Johnston, 97, died last week, Adams passed April 24 and Chadderdon died early this week.

Community leaders said their legacy helped shape Coeur d'Alene.

Alan Liere’s report notes that low-runoff conditions and strong bug-hatch activity boost fishing on local rivers and lakes today, with prime trout, bass and carp action at several spots and turkey hunting also reported nearby.
