ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Hayden Lake Watershed Improvement District installed three new buoys near the Sportsman Park boat launch to protect University of Idaho harmful algal bloom research and replaced six damaged buoys between Honeysuckle and Bervin Bay. Boaters are asked to maintain speeds under 5 mph in no-wake zones while the buoys remain in place for the next two years. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ Alan Liere provided a fishing update today, noting that flows on the North Fork Coeur d’Alene River have risen while hatches of salmonflies and March browns remain strong. He stated that over 25,000 rainbow trout will be stocked in local lakes during May and that anglers can also try for steelhead, salmon, and other species in nearby waters. The Spokesman-Review
