Five students from STEM Charter Academy won the state Envirothon contest in Challis and will travel in late July to compete internationally in Calgary, Alberta where they will be tested on aquatic ecology, forestry, wildlife, soils and land use+this win marks the school’s third state Envirothon title.

City urban forester Nick Goodwin said the towering cottonwoods on the cleared grass strip by a vacant property are marked for removal since their large, falling branches pose a safety risk and the removal is the property owner's responsibility.

The cracked sidewalk will be replaced during the tree removal process + no removal date is set as the property awaits new home construction.
