A resurfacing project that cost $260,000 improved a rough section of the 23-mile North Idaho Centennial Trail near the state line, funded by a $150,000 Recreational Trails Program grant + $100,000 in matching funds, and the trail will host much of the 49th Coeur d’Alene Marathon on Memorial Day weekend.

The Lakeland Joint School District ballot measure to fund essential school repairs failed Tuesday—4,857 voters opposed it.

Interim Superintendent Jake Massey said the district will work on new plans to maintain its 11 schools.
