Decades later, after his son urged him to donate his single-shot Model 37, the simple Winchester now rests in a glass case at the Jack O’Connor Hunting Heritage and Education Center—honoring the legendary writer's legacy.
The Museum at the Brig at Farragut State Park reopened today after a $600,000 renovation—featuring new exhibits such as Women of WWII and Solitary Confinement and updated naval displays.
