In January, Bob Faltermeyer donated his kidney to his wife Susan after her cancer treatments damaged her kidneys, and both said the successful Mayo Clinic surgeries gave them more time together+ Susan quickly recovered from a brief infection.
Dads and generous businesses built a new baseball field at Pinehurst Elementary School so Silver Valley kids can play safely — the field meets youth baseball standards and will host tryouts for the Silver Valley Baseball Club’s 11U and 9U teams in the fall.
About 2,500 runners competed in the Coeur d'Alene marathon events on Sunday along courses that featured the Sanders Beach neighborhood and the North Idaho Centennial Trail— all races started and ended at McEuen Park.
The fundraiser for the North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation ended with post-race celebrations that included food, drinks and community cheers.
