ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Fuel mitigation work on Tubbs Hill begins today as crews start on the east side—causing temporary trail closures and limited access while closures shift to the northwest side as work continues. The project, funded by a $240,000 federal grant and planned over two years, aims to reduce fire risks and improve forest health on the 165 acre hill by removing dead branches, brush and dead trees while creating fire breaks near high-use trails.  Coeur d'Alene Press
