- ➤ Coeur d'Alene resident Hugo Romero, 43, was sentenced to nine years in prison with parole eligibility after two years for unlawfully possessing a firearm and intimidating a witness while held in Kootenai County jail—charges that stemmed from an incident in May 2024 when he pointed a firearm at his former girlfriend.
