  • American Legion Post 149 in Athol is opening a new pickleball court painted in red, white and blue—built with local donations—and the event will feature a ribbon-cutting and free food celebration on June 21. Bar manager Marlene Engdahl said the court will help create a welcoming space for veterans and the community.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • The city of Hayden will host its 6th annual Dog Days of Summer-Fest on Saturday, June 21 at Stoddard Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in partnership with Companions Animal Center; the free event features vendors like Kona Ice, Travelin' Tom's Coffee and local dog businesses—donations will support extra amenities at Pawfoot Dog Park and it is sponsored by ICCU.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • The Coeur d'Alene Garden Club will host its 27th annual Garden Tour on June 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Rain or shine, visitors will tour Penny Ragland’s lush garden where she spent 11 years building unique flower beds—featuring pollinator displays from WingsRising Inc.—and pay $20 for tickets that support local charities, schools and North Idaho College scholarships.  Coeur d'Alene Press

  • Shoshone County Public Works Director Jessica Stutzke met with county commissioners to review urgent road failures in the North Fork area near the Coeur d’Alene River. County leaders asked for public comment on repair options for 700 feet of Old River Road and a busy 300 feet section of Prichard Creek Road—officials may consider gravel resurfacing to lower repair costs.  Coeur d'Alene Press
