CRIME NEWS

  • A Post Falls man held a suspected vandal at gunpoint—firing a warning shot into the ground Monday morning at Black Bay Park—until police arrived, and 35-year-old Micah Cramer, who grabbed a metal pipe and made threats, was arrested for property damage and aggravated assault.  The Spokesman-Review

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Dave Bobbitt of Coeur d’Alene has been named the new chairman of the Idaho Fish and Game Commission in May by Governor Brad Little. He will chair his first commission meeting on July 16-17 in Coeur d’Alene—he said he aims to balance wildlife protection with hunting, fishing and trapping opportunities.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • The city of Coeur d’Alene is asking residents to give recommendations on spending Community Development Block Grant funds that help low and moderate income neighborhoods and eliminate blight. A public forum will be held at 4 p.m. June 25 in City Hall—Conference Room 6—while the draft plan is open for review from July 3 to Aug. 5 with a public hearing set for 6 p.m. Aug. 5.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • Casey E. Drews will be the new prosecutor for Post Falls, bringing nearly a decade of trial experience from her previous role in Kootenai County. The fourth-generation Idahoan will begin her role on June 24—adding local insight and dedication to the city's legal services.  Coeur d'Alene Press
