One year after the tragic event on Canfield Mountain, community members in Coeur d'Alene continue to honor fallen firefighters with memorials and small gatherings at local sites, including bridges and overpasses where neighbors once prayed and reflected on unity.
Kootenai County Fire & Rescue and Coeur d’Alene Fire will host a remembrance ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday at Avista Pavilion at McEuen Park to honor two firefighters lost in last year’s ambush attack; community members are invited to pay their respects.
