- ➤ At least 200 American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary members from across Idaho will gather tomorrow in Post Falls for the 106th Department of Idaho Convention at the local American Legion Post—Idaho’s largest—and at nearby Red Lion Hotel Templin's on the River, where the four-day event will include committee meetings, reports, elections and social hours. - ➤ The Village Bakery at Hayden Super 1 Shopping Center has been operating for four years and offers hands-on training and meaningful employment for a mostly special needs workforce — a program that has helped many find a sense of belonging. - ➤ General Manager Jeff Messinger led a weekend fund drive at Black Rock Marina and Shooters Bar and Grill to support families of firefighters hurt on June 29 at Canfield Mountain—raising $27,000 through a fill the boot campaign with help from Worley Fire District Chief Scott Campos. - ➤ Dana, a local IT business owner who mentors adults with special needs, was stabbed last week while he stopped an attack at a residential home and is now in recovery after several surgeries—he has opened his eyes and is slowly gaining strength. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ Jason M. Rook, 48, pleaded guilty to murder in a Post Falls shooting that killed his ex's boyfriend—he also entered an Alford plea to stalking and will be sentenced to life in prison without parole in early November. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ Rep. Jordan Redman from Coeur d'Alene, who owns Medicine Man Prairie Pharmacy in Hayden, told lawmakers he had a conflict of interest when he sponsored a bill to let pharmacies sell ivermectin over the counter—he received many emails from people in rural areas needing easier access. Lawmakers passed the measure quickly, and safety remains a key concern due to risks of improper dosing and side effects. Coeur d'Alene Press
