- ➤ Coeur d'Alene man Joel Rose was convicted of felony unlawful killing of a trophy bull elk near his home in Kootenai County after investigators linked a 6.5mm Creedmoor rifle & bullet recovered from the elk's hide to the shooting on Sept. 10, 2024. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ A Coeur d'Alene man named Daniel Joseph Hoard, 51, was sentenced on Wednesday to 25 years in prison with parole eligibility after five years and a five year driver’s license suspension following his eighth lifetime DUI when he drove off the roadway onto residential property with a blood alcohol level of 0.215. - ➤ Two Saint Maries men were charged on June 27 with eight felonies for allegedly taking seven mature white-tailed deer bucks illegally during November—including three classified as trophy deer and five taken in one day—and the case remains open with further details pending. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ Lake City High School announced its spring 2025 honor roll listing students from the classes of 2025 to 2028 who earned highest honors at 4.0 to 5.0 weighted GPA, high honors at 3.50 to 3.99 weighted GPA, or honors at 3.0 to 3.49 weighted GPA—this roll recognizes students for their academic achievement. - ➤ Hayden Canyon Charter School and Kootenai Joint School District are among 21 education agencies that received grant funding to support school resource officer positions (each grant covers three years).
