- ➤ Jeff Heatwole, a Spokane music teacher and single father who posted an open request for women to hike, got thousands of humorous replies along with supportive messages sharing mental health struggles. He scheduled three hikes and proposed a charity group-hike on Aug. 2—hoping the event will further support mental health care. The Spokesman-Review
