- ➤ The 41st Big One Salmon Derby at Lake Coeur d’Alene has attracted over 130 anglers who began fishing Wednesday and will compete through Sunday. Anglers vie for cash prizes + extra awards for the top catches each day as the event continues to build local camaraderie. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ The PBS show Ask This Old House will film a segment at Adam Schluter's century-old home on Third Street in Coeur d'Alene as a small crew works to update his backyard with new landscaping and an outdoor kitchen before the community gathers for Monday Night Dinner at 6 p.m. Coeur d'Alene Press
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An 80-year-old woman driving a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo lost control near Atlas Road and Arrowhead Road at about 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday night—she was the sole occupant and later died at the hospital while Idaho State Police continue their investigation. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ North Idaho College celebrated its 2025 surgical technology graduates who passed the national board exam on July 11 during a pinning ceremony—each of the nine graduates achieved a 100% pass rate, well above the national average. - ➤ Idaho Fish and Game confirmed signs of bear activity near Seiter Hall and the Children's Center on the North Idaho College campus Tuesday evening—officials report no immediate threat and advise people to avoid feeding or approaching bears while reporting sightings to NIC Campus Security.
