Yellow jackets + paper wasps are scarce in our area this summer after 13 cool, rainy days in May hurt queen wasps and their early nests.
Experts say surviving colonies will grow as summer continues, so more wasps + may be seen near outdoor gatherings.

After the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a Texas law meant to block online pornography from children, local lawmakers in Coeur d'Alene praised Idaho’s 2024 law that requires websites to verify a user’s age — a measure designed to empower parents to protect kids.
The law has led some websites to stop operating in Idaho as legislators stress parental control over such safeguards.
