- ➤ After founder Deb Di Bernardo died in December 2024, Pia Hallenberg kept the F-Bomb Coffee Club going by moving the meetup from early mornings at First Avenue Coffee to noon at Boots Bakery in Saranac Commons and by adding evening outings. More than a dozen women now meet to network and support local businesses while honoring Di Bernardo’s legacy. The Spokesman-Review
- ➤ Veterans and spouses presented a custom-etched red, white & blue wooden flag at Fire Station 1 on Thursday to honor fallen firefighters John Morrison and Frank Harwood, who died in an ambush at Canfield Mountain; the flag bears their names and memorial inscription as a lasting tribute. - ➤ The Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center in Post Falls will host its second Art Fest from Aug.15 to Aug.23 in its historic building at 405 N. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Idaho Fish and Game said that despite a federal judge ruling calling for a review of gray wolf protections, the state will keep control of its wolves. Its current wolf population (1,235 from spring 2024) exceeds recovery goals and a six-year plan aims to lower the number to about 500 per year. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ The Idaho Transportation Department will begin widening I-90 Monday between Highway 41 in Post Falls and U.S. 95 in Coeur d’Alene. The four-year project—set to finish in 2029—will add two lanes in each direction, repair bridges, realign trails, and extend ramps to ease congestion. Coeur d'Alene Press
