A fire that began Sunday night at Circling Raven Golf Course was contained after crews from the Coeur d'Alene Tribe, Worley Fire Protection District, and Idaho Department of Lands reached the site on difficult terrain — Worley Fire Chief Scott Campos said less than 4 acres burned and the cause remains under investigation.
A 21-year-old driver from Priest River died at the scene on Sunday after his Ford F-250 crossed into the southbound lane and hit a Ford F-350 towing a trailer south of Spirit Lake; a 62-year-old Florida driver in the F-350 was hospitalized and alcohol may have been a factor, state police said.
