- ➤ Kristi Rietze, a fifth-generation local with roots that trace back to steamboat days on Lake Coeur d'Alene, has been hired as the new director of community engagement at St. Vincent de Paul North Idaho — she will use her background in philanthropy, community development and family advocacy to build partnerships — to expand the organization’s mission to help children and families. - ➤ About 60 goats from Leshay Goat Ranch and Rentals cleared an overgrown hillside at Meadow Ranch, a 55-plus community in Coeur d'Alene, to remove brush and weeds that led to a fire hazard; residents said the natural method finished the job faster than expected. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ Residents from One Lakeside and Coeur d'Alene North Condominiums spoke at a City Council meeting on Tuesday to ask police to enforce the noise ordinance along Lakeside, Sherman and Northwest Boulevard. They said repeated disturbances from revving engines have made life difficult while Police Chief Lee White noted 230 related calls downtown but limited patrols to address the problem.
