Community members gathered in City Park Wednesday evening for United Way of North Idaho’s Longest Table potluck, where 45 RSVPs grew into many walk-ups.
The event featured a variety of dishes, picnic table setup & photo exhibits to foster connection.
Timothy Scott of Solid Ground Ministry and Altar Church are hosting Neighborhood Rib-Fest this Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the church’s North parking lot; neighbors can enjoy two types of ribs, traditional sides + the chance to share pre-cooked dishes and meet ministry members.
🎓 Education
The Goddard School in Post Falls is building a new early childhood education center with a 12,000-sqft facility for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for spring 2027 to mark the center's opening.
🏛️ Government
Sixty-one NLFD staff forgo raises this year to secure 21 jobs as they await a tax levy vote that could provide $4.5 million over two years for salaries and equipment.
The levy would add $5.99 per $100,000 to property taxes for stations in Hayden, Rathdrum, and the airport.
🏥 Health
Dr. Alan Wolfelt, a grief counselor with 40 years of experience, spoke to over 160 community members Wednesday night at Hospice of North Idaho, showing them how to express true mourning + support each other in loss.
Heritage Health will host a career open house at the Center for Healthy Living on Sept.
15 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. — job seekers can tour the facility and learn about openings for medical, dental, behavioral health and administrative roles.
