  • Firefighters from Coeur d'Alene, Kootenai County Fire and Rescue, and Northern Lakes are hosting 'Stache Fest' today at Vantage Point Brewing Company from 5 to 10 p.m. to benefit the Red and Blue Foundation mental health fund with food, drinks, a mustache competition, bagpipers, and games—the Coeur d'Alene Fire Department is also holding an open house with demonstrations, an Idaho Disaster Dogs team, and other activities from noon to 3 p.m. today.  Coeur d'Alene Press

  • Northwest Tattoo Museum in Coeur d'Alene is reducing hours and seeking $3,500 in donations as a broken air conditioning system and low tourist spending worsen its financial challenges. Founder Jay Brown said rising competition and health issues have forced cuts while nearly $3,000 has been raised so far—helping the museum continue offering free historical research on tattoo art.  Coeur d'Alene Press
