- ➤ Prost in the Park is scheduled for Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. in Q'emiln Park at 12201 W. Parkway Drive in Post Falls—featuring Oktoberfest activities such as a bouncy house, face painting and first responder vehicles from noon to 3 p.m.—and it will also offer beer, food, games and live bands with proceeds benefiting the Post Falls School District and Post Falls Rotary projects. - ➤ A new wildlife overpass on Interstate 90 in Osburn is open and gives safe passage to both animals and drivers after a decade of work and community support. The project honors civil engineer Kirsten Voorhees who is carrying on truck driver Carl Wilson's (who rallied locals and state partners) vision for wildlife safety. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ Kootenai County nonprofits received $56K from the Forever Idaho grant awarded today by the Idaho Community Foundation to support flexible operating needs. - ➤ On July 17th, 1905, the Boneta collided with the larger Idaho on the St. Joe River—its hull suffered a 6‑foot hole as the crew rescued passengers, baggage, and horses while the Idaho’s crew offered little help. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ The musical Some Like It Hot is playing at the First Interstate Center for the Arts through Sunday and tells a story set in 1933 Chicago with strong music, dancing and a message of survival and acceptance.
