Here's your local news at a glance for Saturday, the 1st of November.
Good morning, Coeur d'Alene.
Mike Sims, a resident on Atlas Road, has been urging the City Council to lower the speed limit from 35 to 25 mph on a 1-mile stretch between Prairie and Hanley avenues to reduce noise and pollution from about 9,000 vehicles daily—city officials have looked at options like a mobile radar unit and more police patrols while Sims plans a neighborhood meeting for further support.
Hunters are adjusting to new waterfowl bag limits as the Pacific Flyway Council raised the pintail duck limit from one to three—while lowering goose limits by one to help protect declining bird numbers.
The rules will stay in effect for at least two seasons and have surprised some local hunters.
