Good morning, Coeur d'Alene.
Stage Left Theater will present The Thanksgiving Play, which opens Thursday, November 13 and runs through Nov 30—using odd-numbered scenes filmed with Native actors to give voice to indigenous culture in a satirical look at traditional Thanksgiving narratives.
Director Misty Shipman worked with Native artists and community members—ensuring the production honors local heritage while challenging stereotypes.
After longtime trustee Steve McCrea resigned, the library reviewed two candidates—retired city attorney Mike Gridley and clinical assistant professor Megan Dardis-Kunz—and library director Elizabeth Westenburg passed her review to Mayor Woody McEvers, who will recommend a candidate to the City Council for a five-year term.
On Wednesday afternoon in Kellogg, the newly replaced Mac Pooler Bridge was dedicated and renamed in honor of former mayor Mac Pooler, who served on the city council and as mayor before stepping down early in 2024 due to health issues.
The bridge spans the South Fork Coeur d’Alene River and connects Bunker Avenue to northern Kellogg—Interstate 90, and it opens for public use today under a $3.5 million project funded by Gov. Brad Little’s Leading Idaho Bridge Program.
