Former state Supreme Court Chief Justice Richard Guy, a Coeur d'Alene native and Gonzaga Law School graduate, died last month at his home in Seattle at age 93—he served 12 years on the court and was widely praised for his calm, fair approach to the law.
Tuesday morning, Hayden held its 19th annual Veterans Day Ceremony at McIntire Family Park where nearly 200 people listened to a prayer by Kevin Schultz of Vine Church and patriotic songs by the Hayden Meadows Special Chorus and Bucket Drummers.
Mayor Alan Davis presented Distinguished Veteran Ross Welburn with a plaque after he shared stories of his Navy career.
