- ➤ Holiday craft fairs, markets, and bazaars are scheduled across North Idaho with free events planned over the coming days. In Coeur d'Alene, a Holiday Bazaar will be held at Lutheran Church of the Master on Nov 22 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (free entry) and similar events will take place in nearby towns. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris and his deputies will serve food at Texas Roadhouse in Coeur d'Alene from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday as part of the Tip-A-Cop Challenge — several agencies are set to compete statewide to raise funds for Special Olympics Idaho. Coeur d'Alene Press
- ➤ The Resort's 38th annual Lighting Ceremony will light up Coeur d’Alene Resort on Nov. 28 with a 5 p.m. parade on Sherman Avenue and 6 p.m. lakeshore caroling and fireworks over Lake Coeur d’Alene. - ➤ A group of well-read women has met monthly in Coeur d'Alene for 30 years, sharing home-cooked meals—like a rigatoni and ricotta casserole—and lively book discussions on titles such as The Catcher in the Rye. They have trimmed the club to 12 members to keep discussions focused and each month a different member hosts the meeting. The Spokesman-Review
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Community Library Network donated its 60-foot Discovery Bus to the University of Idaho Extension for hands-on 4-H STEM classes on the Kootenai County Fairgrounds, according to a Tuesday news release. The bus was retired in 2024 after serving as a mobile learning center for over 22,000 community members between 2020 and 2023. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ Meteorologist Matt Gray said rising temperatures are speeding up snowpack melt at a county meeting in Coeur d'Alene—data shows peak levels dropped from 29 to 24 inches over decades. He warned that the faster runoff may lower water in the Spokane Valley-Rathdrum Prairie Aquifer that supplies drinking water for locals—prompting concerns about water shortages. Coeur d'Alene Press
