Press Christmas for All—an annual community campaign—helped Destiny cover her dental expenses after unexpected extractions.
Donations from local neighbors eased her financial burden as she focuses on recovery and caring for her young daughter in Coeur d'Alene.
🎓 Education
On Monday, Dec. 8, the Mead School Board approved a policy that limits classroom decor and teacher statements promoting personal beliefs to keep classrooms neutral.
The board will review the policy over the next 30 to 60 days, which has raised concerns among educators + the teacher union.
🏛️ Government
Post Falls Parks and Recreation Director Dave Fair fixed Winterfest sound equipment between meetings and smiled when the repair worked well.
He will retire in January after 30 years during which he grew city parks from 6 to 37, and his replacement, Kris Ammerman, will take over on Jan. 1.
The city will hold a farewell reception for Mayor Woody McEvers on Friday, Dec.
19 at 1 p.m. at the Public Library Community Room, honoring his long service since 1997 & contributions to community programs.
