  • Injured fire engineer Dave Tysdal returned home to North Idaho after treatment in Colorado for a C8 AIS B spinal cord injury he suffered when he was shot in June+ he will continue therapy locally and his family welcomes cards and messages at 300 E Foster Avenue.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • Press Christmas for All helped Noella, a 44-year-old widow caring for three children, including two with autism, cover a $4,000 move-in cost so she can settle into a new home in Coeur d'Alene. The community program supports locals in need + inspires lasting hope.  Coeur d'Alene Press

  • A historic study of pollution in the Coeur d’Alene Basin shows how mining waste once harmed local waterways and farms. The 1931 research helped shape current cleanup efforts at the Bunker Hill Superfund Site.  Coeur d'Alene Press

HEALTH NEWS

  • A market assessment found Newport Hospital must add space as emergency visits rise and services like general and heart care expand for rural patients. Hospital officials said they are reviewing funding options to boost capacity (35% of patients are from Idaho).  The Spokesman-Review
