  • The Pinehurst/Kingston Lions Club announced Pinehurst Days will run from today through Sunday, honoring everyday heroes in emergency services and the military. The weekend will include a 1,000 Flags Parade starting at 11 a.m. Saturday — along with vendors, a car show, BMX races and other events that fund local programs.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • The wife of slain Coeur d'Alene Fire Battalion Chief John Morrison announced she will close the Coeur d’Alene Cider Company at 1327 E. Sherman Ave. today from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. + Her decision follows a month of grieving after Morrison was killed and comes as officials named Captain Tom Hiltenbrand the new battalion chief.  The Spokesman-Review

  • The Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra will host its third annual Blazing Fiddles FUNdraiser at Elk Point Events on Aug. 20 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.—the event will raise funds for year-round concerts, youth outreach and arts education programs in our community.  Coeur d'Alene Press
  • On Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon, the Art Spirit Gallery at 415 Sherman Ave. will host artist Mary Francis Dondelinger as she unveils an imaginative exhibit that reinterprets ancient civilizations with a fictional archaeological find — sparking new views of art and history.
