- ➤ Fred Meyer on Kathleen Avenue confirmed it will remain open even though Kroger will close 60 stores nationwide over the next 18 months—store director Cory Hallett said the location is not affected. Other Pacific Northwest stores have announced closures recently and more decisions are expected soon. Coeur d'Alene Press

- ➤ Hayden City Council approved a $42.8 million budget for fiscal 2026 without raising property taxes after a 3—1 vote Tuesday night and accepted proposed cuts from Councilor Ed DePriest to address rising law enforcement costs—Councilor Sandy White warned the cuts could weaken the city’s bargaining power with the county.
